I have a 05' GS500F, i noticed that the windshield doesn't appear to be on straight.  when riding the bike and looking at the windshield, you can see that it isn't straight - appears to have slid to the far left when on the bike.

i see that there are 3 screws on the front ferring on the outside of the bike (cheapie plastic type screws) and then 2 normal metal screws on the inside.  i'd like to remove the windshied and put it back on to get it straight again.  Are these the only screws that need removed to remove and re-install the windshield?  I removed them all and the windshield still didn't seem like it wanted to come out but then i didn't try to hard, was afraid of breaking something.

You've got all the screws...

But there are two black circular "holders" on the inside of the screen.  There's a smaller circle within each one.  take something and poke the inner circle until it is depressed.  Then take a flat screwdriver or something and pry those up.  that releases the inside plastic fairing.

Now you'll be able to remove the screen by carefully pulling the inside fairing away from the outside painted fairing.  When you do this, you'll see how the scree in held in place and you'll be able to remove it

The reason you couldn't just slide out your screen is that there are ~1/2 inch diameter circles around each screw hole.  These raised circles fit into the windscreen.  So, you must gently pull the screen toward the front of the bike to unlatch the screen from these fittings.  When you do this it feels like you are going to break off the fairing.  It is possible to remove the fairing first, but if you take your time and pop out one hole at a time, you don't have to take everything apart.  It is much harder to put the screen back in than it is to remove it.  My ZeroGravity screen took some effort to install.  Good luck.

This helped a lot, i appreciate the time and your advice.  I was afraid to try prying cuz i always get pissed and impatient and ending up breaking something.  But i got the windshield out ok and put back together with no problem.
