My newish gs500 has a noticable vibration at 6k+rpm. I was informed it's normal? Anyone else have a slight vibration at 6k rpm? Vavles where checked last year and I have new plugs, bike has 7000km on it.

yeah .. normal ...  ... i get it varying between 5k and 7k ..

work with it!... if you scootch up forwards against the tank and hold the throttle on 6k ...

I've found my GS vibrates the worst at exactly 5,000RPM. It hits the funny bones in my arms  lol

I agree that there is a slight vibe at 5k revs. This was a little problem as it was right on the legal freeway speed limit. The problem no longer exists as I changed the sprockets to 18/37 and now the vibes don't start until nearly 115kph. At an indicated 100 it now loafs along at 4250 rpm. This has obviously reduced the throttle response but has given me a much more relaxed bike. If I need more power I just drop a gear and there it is.

To the OP... yeah, bikes vibe. Mine right around 5k - both my bikes. Yours 6k. I wouldn't sweat it too much.

Best way I've found to combat the vibes are;
Keep the heavy OEM bar end weights,
Gel grips like ProGrip 719's http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/4/68/4503/ITEM/Pro-Grip-719-RVGS-Open-End-Gel-Grip.aspx and good gloves.
A 17t front sprocket helps keep the RPM down too.
