Someone did a nice job recently on their tail with a round under seat light and I thought it looked great.  Yours looks like it could be done the same way.  Have to find that thread again,.....definitely watching to see how you pull it together.  :star:

Is this the one you're thinking of? (Codajastal) http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=53366.msg713696#msg713696
It seems it has become necessary to qualify my posts:
I am/am not trying to start an argument. This post is/is not intended to be a personal attack. I am/am not merely attempting to present a different viewpoint.

Select the words that apply to you.

Noooooo, although cods did such a smokin hot job on that!  It was this one,....

Different and sexy if you ask me.  I like how he kept it round and matched the curve with the light.

Nice. That should look great if it's sprayed right. I think it's more of a satin.

Can someone show me a pic of how the gastank mounts up?

It's pretty simple. I don't have a picture off hand, but the front of the tank should hook onto the frame and the rear bolts on to holes in the frame. You might have to jimmy the bracket into place to get the holes on the tank to line up with the holes on the frame, but they do go in there.

err yeah kinda .. L hook kinda thing with rubber cover on it at front of tank if i remember right.. it can be a little ... squashy .. to get it to pop onto the frame bar bit... then just the bolts at the rear/side of the tank

the rear mount will/should look like this ... its the REAR mount.. just in front of the seat

dammit.. wheres a pic of the underside of a tank!

sigh... i cant find one... but the front of the tank hooks onto the black ridged rubber thing just behind the headstock in this photo

i'm sure one of the lads on here has a photo of the WHOLE underside of a tank... instead of the 50 bazillion petcock images on the web  :icon_rolleyes:

That's a part of the rear frame that looks like was hoped off on yours. Those pegs hold a elastic cargo net and the holes are what the rear fairings push into to be mounted. There should be one of those on each side

In general, this would be handy for you:

In specific:

You can see the tank bracket under "fuel tank 1991" (part 9 on that fiche)

and the grab bar ("brace, rear fender") in the rear fender fiche.
