Best price I've seen in a long time - $1000 for a nice looking GS500
http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/mcy/3219158187.html

Guy said $1000 was an error and quickly changed to $2000.
Now $1500.
Said would take $1200 cash if this week.
Should I get it?

QuoteDuring the last storm the clutch/shifter on the left handle broke off. If you take and fix I will sell for $2600. I know if I fix and get back on it I will change my mind and not sell :-)

No body told me NO so I'm buying it. Will be here in another hour. Local - nice buying from local people. Brings the to me. We go down the street to licensing office then drop it off at my home before he walks down the hill back to work. Kind of takes the scare out of Craigs Lists
:woohoo:

94 GS500 Project Bike - $600 (Spartanburg/York)

$600 Very Firm

Basically, a friend bought this bike running last year. Rode it for a few months, and then decided to tear it down and fix it up. He came across another bike he'd rather have, and sold this one to me. I bought it torn down, with most of the parts in boxes. So I can only go by what I was told as far as what it needs. It for sure needs tires, a headlight, a muffler(it has one but the end is cut off,) new seat (or this one recovered,) new fork seals and oil, and various other parts may need to be replaced depending on how nice you want to make it. Also the paint looks pretty good from a few feet away, there is one small dent in the gas tank, and the paint is scrached up on the back side of the tank.

The pic on the trailer is from where I picked it up, the pick of it complete is with the parts just sitting on it.

No I will not come down on the price. I'm already losing some money on this in gas and title/registration fees.
It's well worth the asking price in parts alone.

Thanks for looking, Jonathan

I'll post pictures of my new project later today.

He He He - just got (basically stole) a motor on flea ghey for $202.50 plus postage. People want motors - why don't they bid? 3500 miles is low for a 1997 motor. I can't pass up on a good deal.

Little rougher than I thought. Still, he's a local biker and friendship is important, too. He delivered, went to licensing with me and paid for new tabs. So it was no hassle. I'll start a thread on it later. He's going to join the forum to keep track of the build, After the baby comes, he might want to buy it back.
She runs well. Strong engine.

Chain is either gone or way out of adjustment. Just sayin'.

YOU CAN FIX IT! You have...how many GS500's now? LOL

adidasguy

Yep- chain and sprockets bad but I have extras.
I can fix it.
Frame good.
Engine good.
Wheels good.
Forks good (may need seals).

So overall, OK. Could have been better price but he did deliver and etc. so that's worth something. It will help his new baby fund.

These days anything in really good shape is around $2000 or more. No more bargain GS500's around here.

nahh... i'm waiting for the foxtel show...probably on A&E..  PartsWhores .. Been trying to find another gs for a good steal, but like Adidas recently said solid GS' aren't as easy to find cheap anymore. Are people finally realizing that they are The perfect motorcycle?? :whisper: :icon_lol:

I snatch this parts pick for a quick $40 bucks. 2008 tomos frame, nearly mint, tanks perfect shape. seat post is a little damaged, but i'll be putting different style seat on her after the restoration anyways. 2 a35 engines- 1 nearly complete only missing 1st gear clutch and the other for parts. bunch of other parts as well.
