So, a couple weeks ago I got a new rear tire (Battleax). The shop that mounted it put in Dyna Beads to balance it. I have to say so far it's very smooth. I really can't compare the old bald weighted wheel against the new bead balanced wheels but it does feel good. I recommend it.

No need for lead weights or balancing machine anymore. There is no way to get it wrong as the beads do real-time balancing every time you ride, and last they life of the tire. Should be an easy DYI when changing tires.

I first heard about bead balancing from a buddy of mine who has a big RV. He said they bead balance big tires like those and tractor trailers because they are so big and hard to balance with lead weights. I was surprised they do it for bikes now.

I been using those beads for about 15 years..I do all my own tires ,and I usually don't need any weights or beads ,but in case  I do need them, they work like a charm.
The rim should already be balanced if you didn't take the weight off,and If you line the tire marks up proper it is USUALLY spot on.

Yea, my rim is balanced and it was smooth before and it's not like i would even feel an unbalance tire under 100mph. I just think it's pretty cool and it's nice to know they're in there making it perfect even if you didn't have a problem.

In other news, slick50 will improve your mileage by 10.

In an unbalanced system, free weight will tend to collect at the heaviest point. If you're using dynabeeds, try running the tire without, and see if it makes a difference.

I use balancing beads (Counteract beads) in my trucks 325/45/24s and they keep them smooth too. With weights, out of three shops, none of them could balance them so I went with beads
