looks like its 42mm in diameter. well the dial is. so crystal is close if not same. theres 2 batteries within. a cr series im thinking a 1216 ( about size of a dime) and one underneath smaller perhaps a 377 the smaller one is 1.5 volts while the cr batteries are 3v each. fossil does this as well. on their dual display watches. i always thought a 3v lithium can run a dual display with ease

i figured since the original thread topic has been taken care of, instead of starting another watch thread , keep this one going.  thing got run over by one of these

downside to band. its pretty much proprietary. meaning a universal fit wont work.
sourcing one shouldnt be difficult ( thinking ebay or wherever )
nothing on ebay atm. but 44.95 per google search.
i digress. there are a few on the bay atm. seeing if theres a parts watch ( good body/strap/crystal. bad movt.

That's exactly what ran it over (well, almost. "The" one was tan.) And I remember the  the bands run between $25-$50. I just don't know about the crystal, which looking at it might not really need replaced. How does the back come off?

theres a pin driven from one side and out the other.  band removed ( both sides, the back has 4 screws holding it on

personally .. i would do the batteries .. but leave the scratched face .. sure it looks a little tatty but it has battle hardened visual proof! .. thats street cred man! ... this thing survived a HMMWV! ...

..... what about an Abhrams?... reckon it'd still live!? hell yeah!.. well maybe .. well... possibly?... go "BATTLEWATCH" !!!  :woohoo:

That watch has taken a serious beating - wow. I wish my wife's watches could stand up to that much abuse! Maybe the next one will need to be a Victorinox.

And the topic is still in the vein of watch problems for Yama, so it's all good!

No problems since taking a couple links out of my Romex. I've been on the only watch kick i've ever had in my life. I'm liking it! haha

Had an old quicksilver watch around, the GF wanted to try making a paracord watch band;

It came out great! fits perfect, tied with ~6' of paracord(neon green and black) and has a 3/8" black buckle.

If anyone is interested, we've been piecing together some and making them for friends. Been thinking of making some VT Hokie colors and trying to get rid of a few at tailgates and such.
if yer binders ain't squeakin, you ain't tweakin!

can see the headline ... Local Rider Unhurt after Amazing Incident!

A Mr Yama Honkawonkakamikazeuki , a local watch repairman was involved in a surprising sequence of events that could have had serious consequences.

When asked about his experience post incident he said "well you know i just got my amazing new field&stream megasuperwokkawokka watch and i just cant stop looking at it on my wrist!, it's just soooooo awesome!... i was gazing at it lovingly while riding my motorcycle down the main street and the superb workmanship plus the little glints of lights >ting< it gives off just drew my attention for a brief 2 min period.. I seem to have veered off the road and into a shopfront at 70mph." ...

Bystanders were amazed as the police were once they attended the scene .. one man was heard to comment "yeah dude it was like totally amazing... this guy came racing down the street on his superbike and the whole time he was just looking down at his arm.. the bike like swerved through the middle of like 6 buses and a hotdog stand then hit the kerb and landed in the plate glass window over 30 feet away.. i'm just so stunned he suffered no injuries!".....

A police spokesman gave a short press conference a short time later at the scene to de-baffle the amazing lack of injuries to Mr  Honkawonkakamikazeuki "We in law enforcement have no firm idea how this gentleman survived .. however after a brief check of my Twitter account after tweeting what happened earlier i may have received an explanation.. apparently this man purchased the amazing new field&stream megasuperwokkawokka watch and several other incident of this type have been recorded lately .. the reports seem to indicate that the 'total amazement & satisfaction' mental field generated by the owners brain actually levitates and shields them from actual physical damage! .. err a little like some of the X-Men so we are led to beleive" ...

This reporter attempted to gain a further statement from Mr Honkawonkakamikazeuki before he was taken to hospital for a no doubt brief visit as he certainly sustained zero injuries... however he had once again been distracted by the sheer manly beauty of his new watch and though i cannot be certain he appeared to actually be levitating 2" above the Ambulance gurney through the pure energy of his potentially reported 'total amazement & satisfaction' mental field.... he was heard sighing in contentment and mumbling what sounded like "sooooooooooo shiny!" ..

Certainly a big surprise for the locals today!.

I'll look and see if I still have my F&S watch. I'm pretty sure it's the same. I got it free when I bought a pistol at a gun show. I never wore it , bit remember thinking it was pretty nice for a "cheap/inexpensive/free" watch. I might have gave it to my brother but if not it's yours. I have too many already.
Friendly fire, isn't. But it's the most accurate. Semper Fi

Huff1371

Called my brother... he says it's a great watch, he wears it all the time. Sorry, I'll keep am eye out at the shows, watches tend to be quite prevalent.

I love my marine star. Its just a clean cut solid watch. Also, this caravelle I picked up for a more dressy watch has been really nice for the cheaper price tag. It's really light and "goes" with everything.
