I have finally got my GS500 LSR bike finished, and am pre-entered for the event, starting on the 2nd of October. I had posted on a different thread, that I would run the ECTA meet in Wilmington Ohio, called the Ohio Mile, and I did enter two of the events.  But with my rigid rear suspension, and the dips in the runway where the big loaded 747's touched down, lifted my ass of the seat, and I was unable to safely get out of 3rd gear.  Still managed to go 122, which sucked considering the potential of the bike. I've been drag racing for over 50 years, without ever going down, but I came close up there, so that venue is out for this machine.  Am building a highly modified frame to run in a different class, but will be sticking to the methanol fueled turbo engine that I currently have, in my A-BF-500 bike. I hope to bring some cred to the lowly twin !!

I hope you are not planning on going to Bonneville with the rigid tale! I had or stock 500PP out there for Bub and it was ROUGH and then the return roads you almost needed a motocross bike. It was better after the wash out on the Monday but getting back to the pits everybody was complaining that they thought the fairings where going to come off the bikes.

Good luck and looking forward to hearing how you do

much luck and great success. but ive got a simple question. on the turbo setup, how do you keep the FOD out of the inlet? ( foreign object debris)

Well, I did make the World Finals in October but the Bonneville gremlins struck.  The bike would pull hard through third gear (I'm running a Busa rear wheel, with a 30 tooth sprocket welded to the hub, had to machine the sprocket and the hub to fit) which is 125MPH at 11, 000 rpm, my limiter setting.  But when I shifted into 4th, the bike just would not accelerate, I thought I had a fuel problem.  Subsequent runs after finding some small debris in the filter, gave the same circumstance.  After the 4th attempt, I stopped trying to figure out the problem, and didn't bother to download the data logger.  After I got back, the data showed that when I shifted into 4th, the boost fell from 24 PSI to about 8 pounds.  The turbo operating way to the left of the surge line, and we basically ended up overspeeding the compressor wheel, which makes it almost like a solid.  Then I had a bunch of other projects to work on, so I just now got finished with a replacement, runnig a 45 trim Garrett wheel, into a modified Mitsubishi TD05 housing, with a flatter turbine wheel.  Will be on the dyno next week, and if it works like I hope it does, I will post a video link.
The other project I am working on is going to be pretty trick.  It is a GS400F, the water cooled 4 cylinder.  I am sleeving it down to 349 cc and will be running a turbo and M5 methanol.  This engine has a 40.4mm stroke, should be able to turn this one to 20,000 rpm.  Engine is built well, and should make more power than the GS500 as it can pump more air at that RPM. My favorite engine remains the GS500.  Picked up a donor bike for a street ride.  Willl also be turbocharged of course.
For those of you who have been following the performance side of these bikes, thanks for the support.

Guilford, I just stumbled onto this thread.  I didn't know that Wilmington turned the runway into a track?  I live in Cincinnati so that's close.
Bikeless and Broke at the moment...

I'll be at Wilmington (the Ohio Mile)  for all of their events, if I don't get killed, LOL.  Here is their website.  www.ecta-lsr.com
