well it IS slowed down tremendously. not sure if it would look like you describe, if run closer to full speed?

mmm .. good point... but the 'flame front' we all refer to at times... not really there .. i always imagined a real 'mythbusters' type ball of fire... suppose the lighting in there could also affect the vision/effect too ..  :dunno_black:

I dont know why they are referred to as 44 Gal when they obviously are not :dunno_black: I think it dates back to 1966 when the metric crap came in here

Metric Crap? I think not.

Interestingly, I am yet to be used to metric used in height readings of people. Tell me someone is 160cm tall and I'm like ??? but tell me they are 5'3 and I know exactly how tall they are.

I just went to the toilet and did a system.

Now we'll see what happens when the system hits the fan.

When is a gallon not a gallon, when you have british gallons (used in Australia) and American gallons (two versions, wet and dry).  basically an Aussie 44 gallon drum is ~200 litres and an American 55 gallon drum is ~208 litres.  So for all intents and purposes, they are basically the same save for an 8 litre difference.

Silly metric?  One could argue not so, since it is a world wide standard (that even the Americans begrudgingly accept) and not a redefined measure which has two versions in one country alone in the world!

Do I use imperial?  Yes I do as well as metric.  Both my father and grandfather were tradies (fitter and turner and cabinet maker), so I had to learn imperial to learn from them, but also learn metric as that was what was taught in school.
