Hi extensive reading on the forum and a recent run yesterday with a zx6r, the GS500F (2004) was able to hold its own once up in 6th. Journey to get it there was long and my wife was already home lol. whilst I realise a super sports versus my trusty steed is going to always win, I'd just like to improve the response through the ranges.
So I intend to change the intake and put a K&N 'Drop In' , change the output to an IXIL 'slip-on' . Now this is the part that has been open to so many variations :( could someone please let me know what jets and sizes I need for this model and year bike , how many mixture screw turns and if any and what size washers are needed? On the wikki it says that The two pilot jets models are the same but on the mikinioz site one has a larger 2.5mm end opposed to 2mm http://www.mikunioz.com/pilot_jets.htm I am going to try and get all this done for Saturday as I have a novice track day. Thanks in advance :) oh yes can someone sling me a picky showing what the main, pilot, mid  and what size washer I should put under the ! Is it valve needle or needle valve. Thanks heaps

Good place to start  http://jetsrus.com/a_jet_kit_street/suzuki_500_GS500F.htm for sizes, somebody other than me will have to chime in.

Thanks Stevo, been on there and great link, I'll give MikuniOz a call to see if they can do them and find out the mid one :) probably go for improving the standard setup first to see what difference it does make. Before slashing out on the filter and exhaust :) There again if I can pick up a K&N drop in locally then look at that first before cutting the pipe.

Slip on and drop In almost seem like a waste. Why not go for full exhaust and nice new air box filter?
