Extended/long carb mixture screws?

Any interest in long extended mixture screws for the 89-00 carbs? Seems they are not available except for a few in the UK for like $40 each.

Factory Pro will make up some but I have a minimum order. I'd front the bill if people want extended mixture screws so you can adjust the mixture without needing a screw driver. They work like the idle screw.

Any interest? Probably about $30 for a pair with new springs and o-rings.

They make them for the newer carbs but not the older ones.

Here's a picture showing one for the new carbs. anyone want them for the older carbs? If not, I'll not get them. I have to make a minimum order of $300 for a special order.

My Factory Pro extended screws for my 04+ came in today and I can tell you now, they are worth it. The ease of adjustment is nice

I'd do it for the ease of adjustment. Put me down for a set.

Well if you fit these, make a nice mark on it so you an tell how much you've turned it.
Cool.

I'm going to order 12 sets (minimum order for a special order).
The heads will be clover shape so you can tell how far you are turning them.
They will come with springs, o-rings and washers.
These will be for the 89-00 carbs. Ones for the 2004+ carbs they have in stock.
Price to be determined but probably about $39 shipped for a pair.

steezin_and_wheezin

bahh didn't realized they had 04+ in stock. count me..

04+ is stock because it is a currently made carb. (I believe he mistakenly listed the screws for the 89-00 and when I got them I found they really were 04+ and that started the discussion of making them for the older carbs.)

89-00 is ancient so they don't have them. I did find ONE screw for older ones in UK for like $50! (for ONE screw!)

(Sorry - I know nothing of the 2001-2002 carbs as I have never had a set)

It will be pretty nice to have these custom made. I have to buy 24 sets but I think it is worth it. There should be enough people that want them along with all the Seattle GS500 owners that will want them.

With everyone always adjusting mixture screws, it should be a blessing.

For reference, this photo has:
Left: Newer mixture screw
Middle: Older mixture screw
Right: Long Boy newer mixture screw.

have someone in USA get them and drop them in an envelope for $2 postage.

Or you can ride to the West Seattle Bike Cave and pick up a pair.

Good idea to ride out but snow is expected here this weekend and if I did ride out there I'd probably stay there :)

Any US member willing to ship them?  I can send $50 US by Paypal ( $35 for the screws + $10 ) shipping.

Hey adidasguy, any movement on these adjusters?

adidasguy

Yes- they are being made now. Just waiting for them to finish.

RossLH

Oh, nice! Definitely let us know when they're done, and I'll paypal the money to you. :thumb:

The Buddha

Is this a factorypro part ?
I got a machinist making one of these for an MZ. I could persuade him for the GS ...
I'll know about prices in a bit ... the Mz does need it ... I wont rate the GS as a bike that needs one of these ... but the F bikes could probably use em cos they gotta manoevre round the plastic.
Cool.

Still waiting for them.
About to write it off since he's so slow.
Send another email saying either make them or forget it.
