Seems like i was sold the wrong chain many moons ago when I bought for the future when I would need it which is now.

Can I do this or is it too wrong?

Thanks

Pitch and roller diameters are the same at 15.88 and 10.16mm so yeah it would go on...however the dufference is in the width 6.35mm for 520 against 9.53mm for the 53. So you are going to have about a 1.6mm gap between the side plates and the sprockets on either side. I would guess and say you would see an increase in sprocket wear and noise, also the 530 is going to be heavier and will sap more power.

I would do it short term if I had no option but I wouldnt be keen long term. Why not offload the 530 on ebay and use the money to buy a 520  :dunno_black:

or find someone that needs a new condition 530 .. and get them to buy and swap with you a 520 ..  :dunno_black:

Safety! Get a 520/110 chain and do it right.

Put the 530 on temporarily? Why do that? You change chains twice and now you have a used 530 you probably can't get rid of except to someone into real serious S&M.

Sell the 530. Heck - tell Coda that you got it from Seattle and he will pay top dollar whether he needs it or not.

Most sport bikes take 530 chains.  My Thundercat takes a 108 link 530 (I thought it was weird that it was shorter than the GS chain).  I'm sure someone will snatch that bad boy up, though you'll probably lose a little money on it.
