Would an aftermarket vance and hines exhaust from a 2000 suzuki gs500e fit on a 2006 suzuki gs500f?

BockinBboy

Yes. All gs500 exhausts fit on all years.

I can't wait until someone else asks this question and someone like adidas gets pushed over the edge, goes on some sort of rampage.  :cookoo:

:2guns: at least an internet "going postal" rampage isn't fatal.

I was just making sure. I figured as much and did do a search on the forum but only came up with rejetting questions and what not.

nah .. for adidas its gonna be multimeter and "uhhhh my bike is slow cranking but the battery looks ok cos i wiped the dust of it" ... kinda thing....

i confidently expect sometime in the future for Seattle newpapers to report a 9' tall blonde haried green 'muscle monster' riding a GS500 through the CBD and stabbing people with multimeter probes ..  :icon_lol: .. when 'it' finally happens  :icon_mrgreen:

ThatOtherGuy

so if I say I checked my exhaust with the multimeter but it still doesn't work he might come? :dunno_black:

OK THAT DID IT!  :icon_eek:  LIES LIES LIES!!!!!!!!!  :nono:

I have a V&H on Junior and changed oil just fine without removing it. You would have known that if you HAD a meter and used it to check the continuity of your exhaust!  Sheeeeesssshhhh!

I jammed a Jardine silencer in the end to quiet it down because there is no silencer for V&H.

(Oh, and that is TRUE that I changed the oil in Junior without removing the exhaust.)

:D Maybe I am not always appreciated, but nice to know that I am missed.

Louder dose not always mean nicer sound...At the very least I imagine you had to remove the headers to lower the pipe enough to remove the filter. If not you spent much more time doing it working around pipes.

VH required annual maintenance in form of paint to dose it not?

this thread is great now.

btdubs, rharding91, no one here is making fun of you, you just gave us the opportunity to be ridiculous and we took it,
because thats how we do.

+1.  That's how we roll here.  Buy a multimeter, a shop manual, and make sure you have gas in the tank.  Everything else is trivial.

We kid because we care.
Bikeless and Broke at the moment...

Nope. You can do it all and doesn't take extra time. Well, a little oil will dribble on the pipes because of thier routing. A little smoke after an oil change is kinda fun. Or just wipe off the pipes after the oil change. So I guess wiping off the pipes doees make it take longer. Then I would wipe off any oil from stock or Jardine pipes, too so it comes back the same.

V&H is steel like the stock and many other exhausts. No difference in maintenance.
Only way to have less maintenance is go SS or chrome.
Steel is steel - no matter what brand of exhaust. Rutland Stove Polish (in the tube) works fine on steel headers.

ThatOtherGuy

when doing an oil change I just get some tin foil and wrap the pipes up first.  then warm up the engine to get the oil warm (applying tin foil to warm pipes is not pleasant).  then change the oil.  when finished, peel off the tin foil, nice clean pipes. :thumb:
