The Bike

Haggard Handlebars... Looks like someone welded and bent them back to shape hahaha.... :dunno_black:

The so called bent crankshaft tip and leaking seal.....
Its not leaking alot.. my guess is that it got slightly bent in the crash...creating just enough of a pinch on the seal to allow a small drip... Plan A Find a new signal generator Assembly... strap it on... obviously check to make sure the bent crank isnt going to cause the rotor to smack into the points.... if that fails... then I'am totally boned and if anyone knows/has a used engine let me know the $...

The signal Generator rotor....

Check out my pics..some interesting stuff..and some boring stuff also! :icon_lol:

your rotor looks okay from the photo, I think if you "bent" the crankshaft, you'd implode the engine or at least that bearing in a matter of seconds and it would hemorrhage oil from the side until it died.

I don't have my stuff or tools here, but hold onto your signal generator assembly, we can make a working one at a later date. Like january when I'm home again.  I have a signal unit that also has a dead side at home.

Its a 2012, and ya the 3.8 is nice, would be even better if it was manual.. They are sweet cars

I think it didn't BEND the entire crank... but just the very tip end where the signal rotor and the crank tip join together... The force which was applied to the rotor in the fall probably transferred up into the crank but stopped at the crank bearings where there is more support to the crank so it only bent the very end... from my careful inspection it would seem that someone has already taken off the engine cover and probably inspected the crank tip to see what kind of damage had been done... Sob...put it back together... and sold it to me... Anyways ... the engine was working with compression.. so ...SUkkkkkz for me right :flipoff:

Okay, So i ordered a few things... put in new exhaust gaskets and kinda frigged with the points/rotor... the Rotor is obviously warped... and the magnets inside of the points are broken into pieces... I am trying to find a replacement that isnt 250$ OEM brand new. so if anyone has a spare rotor/points Shoot me a line...

I am experiencing poor acceleration...and the bike feels very slow... kinda sputters sometimes while accelerating... it just doesn't sound right..and wont get up to speed very fast... given... I may not be the beeest rider in the world but even my friend was saying it feels slow to take off....

Even if i replace the rotor..and points I fear I will still have a slight offset from the bent crank tip.... and that could cause my brand new rotor to wobble... and perhaps damage the points again.. ugh .. I wish I could just find another engine they seem to be rare... rebuild sounds fun... but not as fun as getting this one to work!.. pray replacing the rotor might fix the lack of power..
