Pouring down rain. Needed to get up the driveway on a slight incline. Car in the way. Went around in the grass. Wheel spun, fish tailed, dropped at 2mph in the mud.

No damage, but a stupid idea. I could have easily moved the car.
Bikeless and Broke at the moment...

I had just got a set of bar end mirrors for the GS in the mail and was excited to get them put on the bike. I went straight from the mailbox to the garage and installed the right side first. While installing the left side I knocked the bike over and smashed the mirror I had just installed.  :icon_mrgreen:

On dirt bikes I have dropped them or fallen off them more times than I can count, but that's half the fun.  :D

This is kinda old but I have a good one. I was trail riding on my little ttr-125. I was following a friend that knew the area, he was on a 500 so he would take off and then wait for me. This was my first bike and I had been riding for awhile but still not great. anyway, we came into this field, he took off and jumped a few rocks, I was mostly watching him while redlining at 30mph. All of a sudden this huge hole came out of nowhere... Yes in a 100% open flat field, it just appeared... I didn't have enough time to do much so I gunned it thinking I might hit the other side and just bottom out the suspension. Dident work, the hole was big enough so the bike went in and i kept going forward on my face. thank god for all the motocross padding. I got back up pulled the bike out of the hole and kept going. I had a few other minor falls but not much. Just bought a 06 gs500f. First street bike so we shall see.  :woohoo:

BTW, I have 100's of snowmobile stories. I have been snowmobiling since I was 10, more time to do some stupid things. lol
LMAO glad you made it alright my friend. That reminds me, i was working for this guy i was his herd manager. ( he raised horses)  anyhoo he had this honda dirtbike some 4 stroke. i got it started and went for a joyride. well she got away from me, and what do i do? i put both feet down to try and stop. did it work? hell no it didnt. but i slowed enough the impact from tree didnt damage anythign. i cleaned it up and put it backwhere i found it. ( and cleaned his carport to hide the tire tracks from it being moved. he asked why, i said " had some spare time so i said wth. "

I used to start taking off my gear (gloves and helmet) while straddling the bike after a ride, but I have since stopped. Reason being that when I did so, I tended to forget to put the sidestand down. I dropped my bike that way three times, but was fortunate enough to avoid damage.

Well I will tell you guys the story, I hope that I dont get teased about it.  Im a new rider and have only been riding my Honda CB450S. So I have gotten used to the controls and handling of it.  So this weekend I finaly got the GS out of storage since it was so nice out side.  Its not saftied yet, all I know for sure is it needed a horn.  So I installed that and put the batt in and started her right up.  I have not done any of my mods yet so she is bone stock for the safety.  I decided to just take her around the block.  So I go around the street and need to turn around in my back lane.  As I was turing I slightly hit the front brake and I stopped right away.... not expecting this I fall over.  SOAB.  My CBs breaks are not the touchy at all, I was not used to the GS front break feel and shouldnt have hit the break while turning.
Long story short is  I scratched the engine, turn signal and mirror.  I also bent the break handle but it was easy to bend back.
Im just pissed at myself so I was woundering if anything stupid like that has happened to any of you guys either recent or in your past.
I do know what I did wrong so Im not looking to get bashed for it.  TRust me I feel bad enough.
So Anyone?
bought my first gs  2 mos before joining this site in 2003 ( was a 97. ) anyhoo got parts in ( front forks) got them installed. had no front brakes yet, hadnt made trip to 6mile cycle. anyhoo i ride it down the s curve to bottom of hill, durn into community, now i can do right hand tight turns, so i tried a lefty. NOPE. i fell over like a drunkard . so i feel your pain, and glad it wasnt worse than a few scratches. takes alot to break our beloved gs' Eh?

Dropped Flick the first day I owned him. Scuffed up his exhaust! Got it out of my system LOL. Then a year later I ran out of gas had the smart idea to not put the  $200 boots aren't so expensive when comparing them with a #2,000 ER bill, and about $8,000 in PT!

Would be great to have free health care. Just on that stunt alone think I could have bought 4-5 Flicks!

First time I dropped my gs, I was doing wheelies...got the rpm's too high, dumped the clutch too fast, and that bike bounced and flipped down the road so much, I thought it would never stop. Demolished the front end, forks and all. Spent the rest of the summer rebuilding it. Won't be doing wheelies any time soon...

2nd time, I gave her a little too much gas on some wet grass, in front of a bunch of people. ouch.

3rd time, my bike was parked on dirt, it rained, and the kickstand sunk into the ground, bike on its side.

4th time, it was wet out and I was pushing her to my trickle charger, but the pavement was all cracked up and uneven, my foot slipped out and the bike came down.

shaZam! happens. Not going for a nicer bike until I have a flat, dry garage for it.
