Here is a video an the story that goes along with it http://youtu.be/IV1lNTFz8Dk

I've listens to like 3 other videos where people have the same sound as me. But there was no clear solution in the comments. So what I have gathered now is that it's possibly a floating cam, stator bolts, or broken magnets. However, I'm not sure how to check any of those things.

Sound like worn out counter balance bearings.

If it were magnets, the left side would be toast.

Floating cams are just a small ticking.

Junior had the same issue. You can read the thread on him and how I discovered it after removing the right side cover.

Sounds major like a rod or bearing.

Edit: buy a shop manual and start checking things out. There are threads on spun bearings. Start there.

also just read your whole thread. i dont have spare engines. Also, my engine doesnt make the noise while under load. Its only at idle. You kept saying your noise got worse and worse on the way home. but you cant hear mine at all when riding. only at idle.

I had a similar noise before I redid my intake exhaust and jetting, might wanna clean everything up and basically check everything over and make sure its in spec. Clean the carbs and sync them.

Junior was the same until the bearing finally went out. When it went out for good, I down shifted for engine braking. That jolt made one half of the now paper thin bearing slip down around the other half. That left the upper portion bare to the aluminum. During the 2 mile ride home it now chewed away the aluminum more and more.

With the noise like you have, he behave the same. Noise at idle and under load it would go away - until --- that fateful downshift that cause the remaining paper thing bearing to slip. We all though it was cam noise - but quite loud.

I would suggest you drain the oil and take off the right cover just to be sure. You can remove the bolt holding the big washer and actually see the bearing.

While you're at it, you can remove the left cover for a good examination.

My gut feeling is right side balancer bearing. If you catch it before the baring slips as happened in Junior and ruined the case. If it is not the balancer, then you need to find out what it is. If it is the balancer bearing, you can replace it before it is too late.
