Hi, thought id introuduce myself before i start complaining, im from coventry and currently ride a gt750 kwak as my runaround and a gs500 cafe racer that ive spent the last 2 years building,

im struggling with the carbs at the minute as my gs is running very lean because of the exhaust change, i know they were made lean when they came off the production line, which makes me more concerned
does anyone know how to adjust the carbs? im clueless and reluctant to spend the money on a jet kit unlessi dont have to.

cheers guys

What Crzydood meant is: speak with Buddha first (he is a moderator here), then get the jets from him.,

Then look on the Wiki, there is info on there about jetting.  Also look up BaltimoreGS's videos on Youtube, I am pretty sure he has a very descriptive simple walkthrough of cleaning and rejetting the carbs.

Buddha will know what jets you need, tell him your setup. He is the jetting god.

Yeah, i could see the former statement looking VERY strange to a person not initiated with the social structure here.... haha! :cookoo:

+100 on buddah, any other jet kit is just pissing in the wind. I wouldn't give you my old DJ kit.

cheers guys ill send him a message, also, has anyone had any experiences with overheating and nipping up? not sure if its just a side effect of the old girl running lean or not?

Overheating means several things.

1.  Not enough oil
2.  Possible lean mixture and/or out of tune engine overall.
3.  Idling or revving too much with little airflow over the engine.

i think i can rule out idle and airflow, and the oil. think its just a case of getting it running properly and seeing what happens, nice one mate
