Did someone wish your GS to die in a fire...? Those ingrates!!!

I bet Adidasguy would rebuild it for you, hehe!

adidasguy

I would be happy to assist in rebuilding him/her/it. After a fire, what sex is your bike?
Wouldn't it be funny to leave as many parts burnt and not repaint them? That would be one weird bike to ride. Bet it would get lots of stares.

There might be some competition on tge naming rights Adidas
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

Are fire damaged frames considered structurally sound?  I know there's issues with it in cars, like an engine bay fire basically writes off the whole chassis.

adidasguy

If the frame is toast, rebuild it and slap a Chinese name on it like Hoysung so when it falls apart you can blame it on cheap Chinese steel.  :flipoff:

Wouldn't I wind up in the POS Bobber thread?

Frames toast. Got hot enough to melt Aluminum bits to slag, definitely super-heated the frame, and will be brittle as a result.

I couldn't defile my wonderful Spanish bike by making it Chinese... She deserves to be put at rest. Not much is left of her.

Friend is letting me borrow his 2005 996 super hawk until I get a ride of my own.

Fun, fun bike.  :icon_razz: :woohoo:

Xune, glad you are ok. Also you must be pretty lucky or are a relative of Chuck Norris. You wreck a bike and just hop back on and wreck it again and still live to tell the tale! AND got pictures of it on fire! It's also cool that you have friends that can lend you bikes until you get another one.

I don't know how I missed this xune!  I didn't even know til I saw you got a new sexy red replacement.  Wow, just finished reading it all.  That picture of it on fire is avatar worthy!  Talk about doing it right if you're going to do it.  If I wreck, I want my bike to go up in a ball of flames like that too!  But, really I'm glad you're good and even came out with a new 636, smiling all the way into the horizon.  Rock on sir.

Yes glad you are ok, I don't know what I would do if I lost my only ride. I don't have any friends with bikes to loan me. If you decide to part it out save those headlight side mounts, I know a Twinner who is looking. Cough Afroese Cough

I miss my GS.

Any donations?

Frames, wheels, wireing?

I will paint it and advertise GStwin if I make a bike entirely from donations!!!

jestercinti

Xune, you missed it dude.  Gave a way an airbox, an air filter, PAIR system, a horn, and a chain guard and bar clamps.  All free including shipping.

Sent the last item out a week and a half ago.  Not sure what you could have done with those parts, but it's a start.
Bikeless and Broke at the moment...
