I would be greatly appreciative if anyone could post pictures of your handlebar guards. I'm thinking of making my own and would like to compare with others to see how to work around the brake fluid res area.

(Back story)
A few months ago I experimented with some extra neoprene ipad covers and make my own handlebar muffs. They are great in terms of wind proof. Though at higher speeds they press against the levers.

Thanks,
Mike

I've got an '82 450 rather than a 500, but I put Bike It Venom Reinforced hand guards on mine:

I have these photos of measurements I took but I can't remember why now...

This sort of shows them...

Not sure how much that will help but see how you go, I do have motorcross 'bars on there as well...

Thanks for the pictures. My first handlebar guards were some old combination squares I bent into shape. I'm going to scrap them and use a thicker (and safer) stock like yours.

I threw the old MSR set from my KTM on the GS for winter riding......blocks some of the wind from the hands......they are a bit beat up from enduro/woods riding, but the GS isn't winning any beauty awards as it is anyways.....
