hi all,

i am going to be painting my gas tank in the next few weeks and im curious as to what steps (precautions) i need to take to prep the tank.  other than draining the fuel.  my main concern is sparks from sanding igniting any fumes which may remain in the tank.

also, what is the best way to prevent the inside of the tank from rusting while it is empty?

thanks in advance.

If the exterior is good, I would wetsand it with 400, lay a 2k primer on top if going from a dark color to light color, and wetsand with 400, wipe and tack, spray base and then clear.

1.8mm tip for primer
1.3mm for base/clear
