Hey all, just letting you local Brissie riders know you're welcome to join us GSR and Katana Australia folks on our New Year ride Thursday 3rd January.

I know it won't work for those who don't have time off, but it seems at least a few of the regulars there do so the date is all set.

The ride's also known as the "Where the Hell are we Going?" ride as there is no set route, just a starting point and one meet up point, everything else to be determined on the day.

Here's the details:

Also known as the "Where the Hell are we Going?" ride... no set destination or route!

For those of us who still have time off work (or can score time off), here's a New Year's ride!

Date: Thursday 3rd January.
Time: 7am arrival for 7:30am departure
Start: Caltex Servo corner Samford Rd and Main St, Samford.

I think we should aim for Woodford around the 9:30am mark departing around 10am to ensure there's another place for people to meet up if they can't make Samford but aside from that and probably heading north into the Sunshine Coast hinterland, no set route.

Route to be determined on the day, picking the most fun and twistiest roads we know...

PS: If you're not able to meet at Samford then PM me (or one of the others if there are any) your mobile and I'll let you know when we're hitting Woodford. I will shoot you mine also. We may be able to accomodate other meeting points but hard to know until we know where we're going...

Is it a Suzuki only thing?

I don't think anyone will object to non-Suzuki's turning up... as long as you like them it's all good

Ok. I spose I can wrestle the GS out past the Ducati in the garage if I have too

We've had a Trumpy Tiger along before but most of us are definitely Suzuki nuts...

Can't make it myself, but these sound like ROTD rides I used to organise when MTBing.  ROTD is Roll Off The Dice, as in get to a point (trail head), and roll the dice to determine which way to turn.  Made for some interesting rides, doing trails often in directions you would never normally consider.

No worries mate, normally we do these on a weekend so hopefully you can make another.

Normally we decide a route in advance too but given I'm not sure how many can make this one we'll give this a try... could be a big failure but who knows right? 

ROTD sounds like fun though, maybe I should take some with me? Might be easier for FOTC (flip of the coin)... haha

one ROTD ride we had to intervene and ignore them, just to stop going around in circles.

Hahahahaha classic! I could see that happening... I'd best take control of the dice on Thursday then... ha!

Well, the idea is not to decide left/right, but a choice of two destinations. So....

YOu arrive in Fernvale. Roll the dice Esk or Splityard.

When you get to said destination, Lets say Esk then it's either Somerset or Hampton.

If hampton once there it is either, Murphys Creek or North. No circles that way. 

Yeah true... I know where I want to go to start with on Thursday but will see what the greater numbers agree on...

So including Twisted we now have four definites... sheesh it's gonna be a small group this time! Oh well, I'm keen and can't wait... love a good day's ridin'! 

We're still sittin' only on four definites but that'll just make the decisions easier

Well I reckon they should! I think Cods is working but may be wrong... however Cods you could have a sit on my 450 and see how the 'bars feel...

I don't think I can make it but now I know about it ill keep my options open for you guys.

Lol Thursday is a little hard for me. I finish work around 9.00am and would need another hour or so just to get to the starting point so that rules me out

I reckon I'd be looking at 90 minutes to get to the start point. Ride Sunday, Ride Tuesday. Another ride Thursday - this an all day affair - I have to say "no" to. Unfortunately.
