Another petty thing: So I went to a Halloween party this weekend at my buddy's wife's mom's house :dunno_black: Anyways, my buddy told me that "Trent" (buddy's wife's little brother) just got a bike. We went to the garage to see what kind of bike a 18 year old gets (he has no job, smokes pot all day in the basement playing xbox with his brother), and low and behold is a early 2000's stretched and lowered r1 w/ polished frame and swingarm.  :cookoo:

I would not even want that. I think Stretched Chrome crotch rockets are ugly. I know your point about not deserving/earning it though.

It was pretty hideous. Supposedly he's had it for a few months but it doesn't even have a plate/temp plate on it. I just have no idea what kind of parent would buy something like that for an 18 year old.

Maybe they're trying to get him to off himself. Doesn't seem like he's doing much to contribute to society or his family.

Hell yeah, If somebody wanted to give me a bike for $FREE.99 I wouldn't care how ugly it was I'd ride it, long as my friends wouldn't see. I used to be that way with women. :icon_twisted:

People who send xmas card with no return address.
"OK - I know 6 DAVE's. Which are you and what is your address?"
No wonder I don't send out many cards

People who always write checks at the grocery store - and yes, we know they don't write until everything is rung up. But WHY oh WHY don't they keep a pen? They write checks - and you don't have a pen?

Banzai

People still write cheques/checks? There really is no need for the stupid things in the 21st century. I hate it when I receive a cheque as it means I have to make a trip inside a bank instead of having a nice, quick and efficient electronic transfer.

I have a cheque book, just to pay the lawn mower guy each month and for other incidental larger payments such as trades people etc, particularly where the vendor wants to hit me up for credit card surcharges.  funny how many people have no idea that normal everyday people can get a cheque book and think only businesses have them.

AussieChick

I've never used a cheque - if I need to pay someone I always know how much it will cost and make a trip down the road to get cash out...

I feel like if I were to hand someone a cheque they'd question the authenticity...don't have that problem with cash!

Receiving cheques sucks too.
...

Twisted

Cars on a twisty section of road that are on their brakes the entire time and have a group of motorcyclists banked up behind them (which they can obviously see/hear) who suddenly find the accelerator when there is an opportunity to pass their mobile roadblock.

Twisted

Oh and to add - the ones who you do pass who suddenly decide to try to keep up with you through the twisty sections. It's not long before they are specks in the mirrors but why bother? Girlfriend in the car? I challenged his manhood by passing him?

I play with them when that happens.  But they do suck when they do that crap.

Banzai

When I'm out for a serious drive on a twisty road I get pissed off by the motorbikes holding me up on the fun bits. Sports Bikers are bad enough but Hells Accountant in groups on cruisers are the worst.

On the "Un-annoying side" sometimes there are nice people. On Vashon Island today, people wave at me - even walkers and cagers. One cager even pulled over to let me pass, even though the roads were covered with wet slippery leave and I was not in a hurry. Sometimes people are nice!

I like to think these people are actually motorbike riders that are temporarily misplaced.  They know the enjoyment and want you to make the most of it.  Luckily I encounter these frequent enough to restore my faith.

However there was reports of the snorters doing this to motorcycle riders in New South Wales, then radioing ahead to another vehicle to book them on "estimated" speeding and dangerous driving charges.  Entrapment at its worst.  That's something I find annoying.

When you have been a Paid member of Something for many years. Due to address changes your membership renewal doesn't arrive. As such, renewal date expires. When you realize you contact to renew your membership and are told... sorry, it expired, you will have to reapply as a new member and pay a Joining Fee. WTF? Double wammy, as a new member no discounts for your previous years. Full price for you. 2x wtf. How about keeping a customer? Grrr.

They bikers were mostly getting booked for overtaking across double lines. The worst bit is the vehicle would pull out just ahead of the bikes and then travel below the speed limit to encourage the overtaking. Yes it s entrapment but we don't have rules against it here. Some of those caught have the means and the will to fight it in court.
