Hey all,
I've already learned from a previous tread that I shouldn't screw the dipstick in when checking the oil.
Should I have the bike on centerstand or sidestand. if on centerstand, with front wheel on the ground or bike leveled (both wheels off ground)?

Also, what is the typical oil consumption rate of our bikes?

Thanks for the info.
respectfully,
aceluck

the book says to do it with sidestand up, which i'll only do for a full oil change, but like after a 600 mile week of riding i'll just check the oil with the bike level on its own no stand and just check the stick while sitting on the bike. i do this when i know i'll have to add a quart of oil or lower.
No Guts!! No Glory!!
