Tx for this Adidas. Very well argued position here with research support added. Enjoyed the tips. And the congestion/environment aspects are so seductive. Going to patch this up on an  Aussie site now. Tx again.
PS Their point about not getting angry when riding = spot on.

I would have liked to have seen a little more explanation on the proper way, what to look for, etc... They also didn't elaborate on the bit about how riders have to be at speed to maneuver a bike out of the way of a car.  A bike is has no offense against a cage, and its only defense requires movement.

Nevertheless, it's good to see videos like this out there. I personally see filtering to the front at lights much safer.  I hate being at the back of the line when the light turns and new traffic is coming up from behind while light is green but traffic still stopped or slow and starting to move.  The new traffic doesn't see anything but a green light... The cages think all systems are a go with a green light

I gotta disagree ( yeh I know there is always one). One guy even states in the video that he is taking his life in his hands every time he gets on his bike. While filtering maybe convenient it still involves the riding of a motorcycle which is not safe as there is always a risk involved.

Must be lane splitting week on the web. Here's a Pommy guy on YouTube showing how they do it. A no-drama, just how-he-does it vid:

Altho I rode a bike in the UK as a youngster, don't think I'd be game to do it on the motorway today like he does it. The foggy commute on his site:

is a bit of a ripper, too. When I see that weather, it makes me realise why I like old Oz so much. Anyway, whatever,  the UK YouTube poster clearly loves his lane splitting.

His "...taking is life in his hands..." only refers to motorcycle riding. That quote is out of context in reference to lane splitting.
Let's not get all biblical here where phrases and one liners are always taken out of context to prove a point, and other phrases that contradict your opinion are ignored.

I did not do that video. I ran across it and thought it would be good for others to view.

My favorite part of that video was the

There was no taking out of context at all. He refers to taking his life in his hands every time he rides. When you filter you are still riding a motorcycle and there is always a risk involved. Hell, I filter sometimes but I don't do it because I think it is safe. Convenient, yes. My point is I think safe is the wrong choice of word to use to associate with lane splitting. It's like the whole "loud pipes save lives" thing. We all know that's a crock of BS. It seems to me these guys are using the word safe to help their agenda because they are pissed of filtering is illegal in the US. And most people are going to agree with them because they want the same thing. To be able to go to the front of the line without getting a ticket.

id split and or filter even if frowned upon, i guess if i had to, or to advoid collision. i suppose if done safely ive no objection to it, its just the unpredictability of the cager or other riders that worry me. one movein the wrong direction could equal a problem or an unwanted pinstripe on ride

It does! Impressive how much electrical tech has advanced, 40-60 miles at 70mph seems like a ton in comparison with years past.

Now if they'd just get cheaper, too...

I wish governments would wake up and allow this once they see the congestion reducing benefits.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

2 things against that, 1 battery cost, and 2 since its the in thing it comes at a premium
