Or people who play games. Or want to be able to use basic programs for engineering.

i do that just as well on a pc. besides, if apple i can build my own if need be. aka hackintosh. and save loads. anyhoo back on topic. adidas will know this one

As time passes, these are becoming less compelling arguments.

Steam now has a client for Macs...that takes care of more than 1/3 of all games worth playing.   Also, VMWare/Parallels can allow you to also run Windows on your Mac from within the Mac OS. For that matter, with the appropriate setup, you can load and boot Windows directly on your Mac. Basic engineering software will work just fine like this. (The advanced 3D modeling stuff, not so much.)

true. will be feasible once they quit being 4 times hte price. for the same hardware. until then ill build my own mac. nowadays its easy. used to be damn near impossible. still a Buddha Loves You but hardware is identical.

I agree that price is still a very compelling argument. It's hard to argue that paying $2300 for something you could make for $750 is a good deal. From this perspective, Apple is going after technologically illiterate people and "scene kids" who have to have certain items as status symbols. That is part of Apple's marketing genius.

that and not licensing the dsign like ibm did back in teh day. up until recently it was hell to build ones own mac. ive used mac cases to build my own comps. ( a mac case in which lives a pc) nowadays tho a hackintosh is fairly easy.  setting it up is the Buddha Loves You though
