Bought a 2008 bike (11k miles) w/o fairings but in otherwise great shape.  Had a blown motor (beyond rebuilding) and just bought a 2007 motor w/ about 5k miles.  I'll be putting this engine in over the next couple weeks when I find time from school/exams.

First picture of bike.

Engine out!

Congrats, how much did you get the bike for?
I am into buying bikes that people have given up on and fixing them up!

RIP Patrick Lajko, I miss you man.

Looks good. What is the thing that goes across the handlebar? It must be for re-enforcing, I want one.

It's not a stock handlebar - but it looks cool... my guess it's to increase the rigidity of this supersports bike - keeps the torque in check   :dunno_black:

It's for dirt bikes generally and you would put pad on it.   You spend more time with your weight over the bar on a motocross.  Not as functional on a street bike.

I'll be watching this as I'm under going a swap of my own but won't have time to do I for another week or so.

You better hurry up and get that engine in so you can ride. That's a sweet looking GS. I know that black on the tail fairing is probably just primer, but it looks kinda cool if you think of it as Matte black.
