I enabled image uploading.  I need to watch the server usage for the next couple days to see if we are OK, or start beating up the server. 

Please feel free to test and upload in posts.  I need you to test it actually.

If we stay within acceptable limits then I will leave it on.

The next question is should I have it make thumbnails or just allow the full image?  I suspect not having thumbs will reduce cpu usage.  I turned off thumbs for now.

Hit reply, or new thread, then expand the "attachments and other options" link at the bottom left of the text box.  That's just below and on the left side.  Click browse and attach the file.  Limit is 300k for now.

This is more a test of server load for now.  Addidasguy is willing to host the actual images if we don't load the server too much.  But for this test they will reside on my server.

CPU usage is my real enemy...not memory or bandwidth... unlimited storage is possible if we can get SMF to work with an offsite server...which would be way cool.

Bandwidth is not the issue, it is resource usage.  So far it has only increased resource usage about 10% -which puts us within tolerable limits.  So day 1 test is a success.

John, I've tried off and on for 2 days and this doesn't work for me.  No browse choice under attachments and also I can't see any of the many pics uploaded by others.  So I logged in under old runsilent name no longer used and bingo, there it all was to see including the pic of my ugly face.  Can we make this work for moderators too?   

Mmmmm, gotta wonder how much I've been missing all these years.
