Took the bike out earlier and somehow broke the tip of the speedo cable off at the back of the speedo. Ebay only has Motion Pro from 89-00. Are they the same for newer years or not? Anyone else know where to get one from?

I think it's same part. Post up some pictures of what you're talking about and what everything looks like where it mounts to the hub and the gauge. I've replaced my cable before on my '93 so I'll be able to tell you if your cable is the same one as mine

All are the same. Motion pro is good. Cables are shipped dry. Lube it before using. (I buy Motionpro stuff so they are adidasguy approved)

Too bad you aren't in West Seattle. (I don't need to say why - you know why)

Oh, this thread needs some cat. So here you go...

I dont know if its "proper" but I lubed the speedo cable on my NH with throttle cable lube.

I'm sure it's not "proper" but I have a can of universal cup grease for wheel brgs and chassis use and most anything else except brakes that need high temp greases.  I've used it for years on my Honda and Susuki speedo cables with no problem and I ride in temps down to 20F.  The only thing that doesn't work is a dry cable, jumps all over.   :icon_lol:
407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.
