Lights are acting up again tonight. Dim...bright...dim. I can't find anything loose. A stator = $150. :x . I'd be better off taking my bike to a plumber than our local bike shop. Next closest = 65 miles + 2 hrs labor @ $70 = $140 + gas + time  = buying a stator  = cheaper. But would THAT fix it! :x

Forks are working well though.

If your stator is bad you probably fired your regulator again.  Did you put a volt meter on your battery to see what the volatages are?

Once upon a time I cheked the original regulator output during a lull in the dimming problems. It was putting out within spec. I hope that's not what happened. I've never had starting problems. What would be the hookups and settings for testing the stator as compared to the regulator? Also, if I get a stator, hopefully a fried regulator couldn't screw it up before I get another of those. :dunno:

Thanks

See my posts in the old Charging system thread, especially the second one.
