I recently purchased a 2008 GS500 and the starter button is missing. I have looked on a few websites for just the button. Does anyone know where I could just purchase a button and not the whole right side switch? Thanks

The button is not sold. You must replace the left unit. They can be found for $15-$25.
You have a 2008 so 2006+ will work. You can not use anything prior to 2006 because the connector changed starting in 2006 to route the headlight through the starter button so it turns off when you press start.

Thanks for the info...Now to find one.

You could probably find a broken right hand control on ebay pretty easily and just pop the button off that and super glue onto your current control

I looked yesterday and didn't see any right hand controls. I'll find one.
I was thinking maybe cutting a piece of rubber and super gluing the sides to the starter button (housing) just to keep the water out.

Does it have to be an 2006 or newer if I use the whole right side control? Or like the other poster said just use the button and glue it?

For the whole thing, you need 2006+ because of the connector. I am not sure of the actual button as I've never taken them out. I do know the switch behind t is different.
Easier to just replace the whole thing.
