Carbs cleaned, bike won't start

Greetings GSrs,
So I cleaned the carbs after I discovered a leak. It was the float needle that had dislodged.  All new O rings, new plugs just for the hell of it and squeaky clean carbs.  Reassembled bike but not getting any combustion.  It cranks fine but doesn't fire.  I've tried starting in PRIME and ON. 
What is the easiest way to determine if I'm getting a spark?  I plan to check float bowls just to make sure I haven't impeded fuel flow to the carbs (e.g. pinched a fuel line with the tank).  Other suggestions?

have you turned the fuel back on really stupid i know i did it and i was confused for about 10 mins to why it wasnt firing up

Turn the gas on at the tank petcock.
Pull the plugs and ground to engine and crank.  Should be spark.
Fuel hoses routed correctly?  Any lines pinched?
Bikeless and Broke at the moment...

Would be my first suggestion.  ;)

Also ensure the carb boots are sealed good and even... too much air will give you troubles.

Oh, and make sure the plugs wires are actually connected! ... not that I have ever done that or anything  :icon_rolleyes:

Back out your float bowl drain screws to see if the bowls have fuel in them. There should be about 1-1/4 oz. of fuel in each.

I'm guessing your float needles are sticking.  You have to be careful when you clean out the carbs not to disturb the float height, or get too much carb cleaner on the rubber float needle tip.  Carb cleaner can eat the rubber tip and make it prone to sticking.  Use the clean U-tube method on the carb drains with the petcock on prime to determine your fuel level in the bowls.  If it's not right at the float bowl gasket, then your float needles are the problem.

I'm narrowing down the potential problems.  Float bowl levels are where they should be and I've got a good spark.  So, I'll check the intake boots to make sure the carbs and airbox are properly seated.  Tried to bump start but no luckhttp://gstwins.com/gsboard/Smileys/New_Smile/sad.gif
