Ammo boxes for panniers. What a good idea. And cheap from a surplus store.

A bit late now for the back rest. Had you thought of making it a two piece horizontal tube so you could slide the rest forward and back to suit different passengers?

NortwestRider

Yes the ammo cans are $22 each with new seals!!.
I thought about making it more adjustable ( the back rest ) but I built it in 20 minutes and there is nobody else that will ride on the back .

Hmmm.... another sex change for Trey. No wonder he is gender confused! Good thing it looks like the same sex marriage law will pass in Washington or I have no idea what Trey/Dora will do........

I can't find any paint to match ( I tried EVERYWHERE )so my wife says to paint the fairing a nice gloss black !!.

Paint is available from Colorrite.com

I have touch up pens of the color, but no spray cans.

NortwestRider

I called colorite and they said they didn't have any, there website didn't go back past 96 I believe.

Doesn't matter.
The WIKI has the color chart. They have the color. Colors are 1TU or 1HU. I recall it is a 1994 tank so 1Tu.

Well the project is coming along good.We leave for Alaska on June 20th and I still have to outfit my NEW bike so I'm going full speed on the build.
Here is where I'm at.
The hand guards are done
The fairing is done
Volt meter is done
The aux fuel tank is done
The saddle bag rack is 90% done.

Nice work! Very classy and functional.
Come over for a front fender next week. Can you ride him over? Suzi and Junior miss him.

NortwestRider

Maybe I can ride him,I think he might need a carb cleaning/rebuilt.It doesn't seem to want to take full throttle.

He's just homesick. He wants to be ridden more.
Spike his gas with a little seafoam and take him for a ride!

codajastal

Very nice work on the pannier frame :thumb:
I am not interested in anything you have to say
Don't bother talking to me, I will not answer you

NortwestRider

I'm mounting Seahorse 720 cases on the racks with removable mounts.

Put some Seafoam in Dora and ran her for about 10 minute and it's already running better.I will let it sit in carbs over night and loosen up any gunk and run her again.
I built this engine guard/skid plate BUT I'm not sure I like it.If I keep it I will trim it down some and drill holes it for cooling.

Yup,it's kinda a mock up.I just want to keep the mud from the Dalton of the engine ( the stuff turns to concrete when it dries ).
