Hi.

I finally got someone in the UK to buy some skidmarx parts and mail them to me.

My only question is... Will i run into issues with shipping? I.e. will this be something that will get held up un necessarily in customs or some shaZam! like that?

thanks!

Probably not, you will probably see the box was opened and sealed back if they want to look at it. But i highly doubt they will tie up fairing or a package that light. I don't think i have ever had a package from uk inspected by customs, now if it was from another country its highly possible. So overall probably will have no issue what so ever.

Here in Australia customs leave a little sticker on the outside and a pamphlet inside your package if it opened for them to inspect. Funnily enough I have have this happen only twice to me and both packages have been from the UK.

is it just me or is the skidmarx.co.uk site completely F'd?

i tried to ship it locally and it errors out on the payment page with "No payment modules have been installed."

I can't catch a break!

i'm just going to have to call them i guess.

Only one of the many package i have ordered from uk had been opened was a large box that weighed around 48ibs, i forgot what it was now. anyhow they just tapped it back shut with tape that said inspected by us customs.

Edits i put 89, corrected it now weighed only 48.

If low value and shipped to you by post or DHL it should be no issue at all. I get tons of stuff shipped.
Avoid UPS. FedEx will charge a customs fee even if no duty due.
Small items for personal use rarely any issue.
I've had 2 complete "E" fairings from the UK as well as belly pans and headlight cowlings.
Make them sound like used "crap" and "as is" on any paperwork.

You should have nothing to worry about.

I don't think i have ever had anything from china opened, but then again 90% of that stuff was small packages. I think they only opened that box from UK because of the weight of it, and possible what was listed as contents. it was something for the yard, just cant remember what now.. was few years ago. So i think it as more to do with location coming from and possible weight of the item. I don't think fairings weigh enough to worry about.
