Hey all...

Quick question. Changing my front and rear brake pads. Can I change my front pads without a center stand??

I'm asking because my bike no longer has one. The wiki info says to put in on the center stand etc. but I heard my mechanic say in passing you don't need to.

Cheers and thanks for any help/info
Paul

407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

Wouldn't blocking the engine and jacking it up work better :dunno_black:

Honestly, I have suspended the front on tie down straps suspended on a rafter in the shed.

It has been a while so my memory isn't so good.

You can change the pads on the side stand.  You only need to lift the front wheel if your changing the rotor as well.

Be aware, this is not very wise advise!

Sheesh.  I always just take the wheel off to get things out of the way.  Of course you can just remove the caliper.  Duh!  I am getting feeble minded like gsjack.
