I am having issues with my battery staying charged. Around a year ago I switched from the acid battery to a sealed Scorpion battery. Last season while I was riding it every day I dont remember having any issues but now I have been riding it on the weekends and over the week the battery loses enough juice to not start 5-6 days later. When I pull in the garage at night and let it idle the headlight dims but when I rev it up a bit it brightens so I assume it is charging over 3k rpm which seems right. It does have a bright blue headlight... came on it when I bought it but I speculate that that might have something to do with it. Possibly draws more power than a stock bulb?

There is lots of extra power so if everything is working, you're OK. I run fog lights (1.5 amps at 12v) and don't have power issues.

With your meter, what is the voltage when you park the bike?
What is the voltage each day after that?

If dropping, 3 possibilities:
   1. Bad battery
   2. You have the bike in PARK and the tail light is on, draining the battery
   3. Extra stuff: you have some add-on things like USB ports or something that is always on and draining battery.

You can determine if #1 by disconnecting the battery and then monitor voltage. If it stays stable, then it is #2 or #3. To determine if #2 - look at the key position when you take it out and look at the tail light.
