Hello All,

Parts are coming in, snow is melting off the ground, finally I will be able to start on my long awaited project.  In this thread, I will post updates, pictures and more.
Thus far, I have received my GSXR Exhaust, my 15T sprocket, my tires. I'm still waiting on the jets (around end of april).  I am hoping to take out my bike from hibernation this weekend and take a few "Before" Pics. Can't wait!!

Looking forward to sharing my progress with you guys!
And thanks for the support in advance, as I am sure some issues will come up at some point, since this is my first project of the sort  :D

I am not interested in anything you have to say
Don't bother talking to me, I will not answer you

Hey Guys! Thanks for being patient, I have been out all weekend riding, first weekend out.. Had to make the most of it, I can finally start working on my baby :)

So here are a few before pictures of my Falcon. So far the only thing already installed on the bike are bi-xenons, which you can't really see in daylight, so I had turned them off, and a LED Parking light in the front.

Quick Update, I received my Muffler (a GSXR1000 Muffler) as suggested by some users after some debating, I decided this was the best choice for me.  That is my next install, howver I need to shop for a muffler shop that I trust to do the cutting and welding since I don't have the equipment to do it myself.. so that's gonna take a little bit of time, can't wait till it's done, I will more post pictures asap :)

I am also considering a fenderectomy (suggested on the website) and a repaint of all white areas to gunmetal grey, still thinking about that one.. thoughts?

Hey guys, I finally got my jets in, gona go get them sometime next week.  I got a 62.5/20/140 setup as suggested on the wiki, and i was wondering if one of you guys could help me out with a question.. there is no mention on that build of any work on the needle.. is this on purpose ot was it forgotten? Do i need to add a washer or two? Any help would be much appreciated before i start my carb work.

Everything will be documented by either video or pictures and sound recordings :)
Can't wait to start!

So I'm reading your thread & this crazy idea popped into my mind.  If you remember the cartoon "Blue Falcon"  you will see why I thought of this.  Since your bike is blue and you call it the falcon, it reminded me of the cartoon character.  Anyways, I found this cool pic online & wanted to share it.  That would look so cool airbrushed onto the tank or plastics if you want to go that route.

That's sick!! It will definitely go on my to do list on the bike, thanks!! It coyld even go on the fairing, since I'm thinking of repainting that anyway to gunmetal grey.. hmmm.. gonna focus on stage 1 first and let this simmer, but it's a great idea and an awesome picture! Thanks a lot, serioualy!

Glad you like the pic.  How's the bike coming?

Hey cool bike! I was wondering how your going to make the gsxr exhaust work? I was thinking of doing something similar with a gsx600r exhaust but have heard i will loose a bit of power in the process :/ so are you just rejetting and upgrading the airbox? Thanks :) :)

Hey guys,

Sorry I haven't posted in a while.. been trying to keep up with work and everything as well as getting some way overdue riding time in.. (Winter stretched quite long this year here..)
I really do like the pic, and I am definitely considering putting it on there, but appearance mods wil have to wait for now as I'm prioritising riding enjoyement above all :)
As far as update, well I installed my new tires (Pirelli Sport Demons) on saturday and they are fantastic! I could feel a difference right away, and I'm very excited to ride with them, the cornering ability is completely changed!! I also got all my parts in (jets etc.) and was getting ready to get some work done.. Unfortunately I have  a little issue right now, I think I busted my starter, trying to start her up a little cold and low on gas on tuesday morning.. now it's spinning empty and making a whirring noise.. I'm hoping it's a simple fix as described in this post http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=52250.msg652126#msg652126, and that it won't cost me too much so I can get back on track in my project. I'll keep you guys updated once I open her up and check.

Thanks a lot! She's a dream come true :) To answer your question, as far as my research goes, I am going to gain only a slight power increase since the output of the GSXR can is not that much higher. It'll be a mild slip-on behaviour I'm guessing.  I am rejetting my carbs for sure because from what I understood, if you don't do it and you open up the airflow, then your mixture will get even leaner than it already is and you will definitely lose performance. SO rejetting is a must. I will for sure let you guys know how it all works out in the end :) The fitting itself is pretty straightforward, although it's going to take some soldering.. I will take some pictures if I can during the work.

I'm excited to keep working on her, but these problems arise and you gotta deal with them so it's taking some time.. oh well :) Keep you guys posted!

So i bought all kinds of things needed to open up the falcon and see what was happening gaskets, oil, oil filter etc.. and then just before i opened her up, i decide to try the starter one last time.. lo and behold!!! She started one shot! tried it again several times today, hot, cold, warm.. all good..

Still can't figure out what was wrong with my starter on monday but we're back on track.. next move: Rejetting! Results and hopefully some videos coming up next week :) Stay tuned!

Haha "blue falcon" has another meaning in the military. "Buddy f#$ker"

Hey thanks for the inspiration, i'll be playing while I work on the falcon tomorrow:)
Here's one update: the long awaited, and well deserved fenderectomy. Check it out :)

Also notice the beautiful new Sport Demon Tires on that baby :) Love them more and more everyday!!
P.S.: Thanks for the suggestion on my previous post by IAmSpartacus. (http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=63264.0)

Also I updated my Tach & Speedo Lights to LEDs.. much better!

I also did a 0-100 kmh (62 mph) run today, before rejetting just to see the progress..
I will post a link once I upload it on youtube. The video isn't great quality, but it serves..

Well rejetting is done, and the Falcon is purring like a kitten :) I can actually feel a crisper throttle response at all RPM range, a huge thanks to all the contributors to the forums and the wiki without which my mission would have failed..

Can't wait to install the exhaust for which the carbs are now primed and set up for :) Should be a few weeks before that baby is on there. But the project is advancing! Update again soon.

Looks great.  Keep up the good work!!  :thumb:

What re-jet kits did you use?

Hey thanks :)
I bought the jets separately, no kit. I used 20/62.5/142.5 setup.

The setup I chose is for a sports exhaust which I don't have installed yet, so I am expecting that this is creating the following problem. I can feel that it's a little rich since when i snap open the throttle at low revs, the acceleration feels a little flat, until it gets to higher revs like 5-6000, but I am hoping that once I change the exhaust, that will take care of itself.  if not I might have to go back in and put in a smaller main jet..

I'll keep you posted once that's done

HELP!!!!
I am in need of some guidance from the carburetor gods! So I did my rejetting to the above setting on Thursday, bike ran nice Thursday, and also yesterday except for a small flat acceleration at around 4-6000 rpm with throttle snapped open. Today, as i was getting to work (hotter day today) the bike started bucking and sputtering as if i was low on Gaz(just filled up on Monday) I had to keep the throttle open to keep it from dying in traffic.. when i stopped I noticed gaz leaking from my airbox drain...

Why is this happening? Please help.. been going around the forums for an answer and i can't get a definite.. can a too large main jet cause this? Did I do something wrong when rejetting? any help is appreciated for a newbie like me.

Thanks in advance!

Ps: am not home.. is it safe to drive back? should i drain the carb bowls before trying again?
