mr. happy

has there been any hashing out of routes done yet?

it looks like from what's on the map for covereage we could start in the middle, get the midwest done, head up to maine, down the east coast to florida, then west?

The opposite?  ideas? preferences?  druthers?
dont mean to step on any toes here either....

Here's my high-school math plan.

I'm sort of the organizer of this...so it starts in Cincinnati Ohio 45202.

One idea is to do a boomerang loop.  Head west to Indiana and Illinois...pick up some riders along the way...have them a part of the relay...have them carry the baton for a while.  End up in KY or VA to hand off the baton to the next rider.  From KY/VA, head north to hit New England, then on south "I-95 corridor" to FL.  Once in FL, it's the I-10 corridor to the west.

Not saying take the interstates the whole way, but there are typically state and federal highways that interstates effectively follow.  I-70/US-40 for instance.  One of my favorite movies is Disney Pixar "CARS".  I'm a firm believer in stopping to smell the roses.

Motto for the relay:  It's not the destination, it's the journey.

So, something like this:

Banner's in! And it looks TONS better than the cheapo laminated one. Text is a little blurry when up close, but it looks great in photos!

its awfully weird to see some of my work being taken so seriously. the banner and pen look great! is there an approximate start date yet?

jestercinti

Well, I need to get the banner, and coordinate the hand-off with the next person.  All that takes time.

One thing to keep in mind.  This will stall.  If Bob can't meet Jim, then it does not move forward.  I know we are all getting antsy, but it will start soon, I promise.

One of my all-time favorites as well.

What's the time frame looking like on this ride? I'm trying my best to stay faithful, but my location is currently very volatile. I'm applying for jobs in Michigan (plus one in North Carolina, but that's a bit of a long shot ), so if this is happening in a couple months I might be in a different region.

jestercinti

My life is very volitle now as well: Divorce.

Once I receive the banner, we'll get started. I need to kick this off before things get too deep, and the bike gets sold.

Hate to hear that Jester.. Sorry for the delay on the banner. If the bike gets sold, we could pull the twinner parts whores together and build ya one from scratch!

The laminated banner was so cheaply done i didn't want send it out(it looks good on the shop wall though!) Hope my bojangling hasn't tossed a wrench in the time frame..

Hmm, if you guys are running to/through Charleston WV I might want to join in the fun, I'm about 30 mins southeast of there. (Montgomery)

Any chance this baton will go from eastern pa to western pa or visa versa? If so I'm interested in participating in the relay.

Badot / OZ...add yourself to the map.  That's the system of record for who is interested.  Look in the OP for the link.

Timeframe of Mid-May I will kick this off.  It all depends on which weekend I see my son.  Once that is figured out next week, We'll set a date.

I'm really sorry to hear about your divorce.  That's really tough especially with children involved.  Take care of yourself.  Hopefully this Relay will afford you some opportunity to keep your mind and body occupied.

jestercinti

Es ok bombsquad. These things happen. This lets me get away for a while. The first part of May I want to get this thing started.

The weekend of June 1 is the SOONEST that I can kick this thing off.  Work for me is busy in May (We have a large project going on...cannot miss), I'm moving, and life is just busy...

Therefore, it will start then.  I'll post an official thread soon since the planning is pretty much done.

Steezin...this is your official notice to GET WORKING ON YOUR GS.
