ok.. sorry for the lo-res image... built in cybercam on laptop screen ..

the black stuff is actually surface rust ..  :icon_rolleyes:

Badot is getting close with his shake cap for spices idea...

but it is 'vehicular transport' related ..

... you all might be annoyed when you realise/find out ..  :D ;)

oldmech

it is the cap from a tire..sorry, a "Tyre" tube repair kit. had to use the proper spelling for ya janx.  :D
the shaker looking part is to scuff up the rubber on the tube.

Janx101

:thumb: ...  Yes!!! .... #1 velly good quarity ty-ah lepair kit... Onry 2 dorrar! ... Lmao

It sucks to use... But that's it!!

I wish they would bring back the old school vulcanising patch repair kits.. Little mini vies/clamp widget... And the patches on little metal discs ... Rubber patch on one side and a kind of matchstick/phosphorus tab on the other side....

Clamp disc in place over hole.... Strike the little rough head pin thingy against the 'match bit' ... Pshshshshwshwshwssh!!! ..... Let it cool and remove clamp!! ... Awesome fun.... Bit stinky though!!

You up OldMech!!

oldmech

not much time today to dig up a good one, but this should do.

No it's not an LED. It is electronic in nature. It's part of a very well know fictional item. The item pictured is a working replica of the fictional item.

Looks like an old style 7 segment (or 11 or 13) LED 6 character display.

Star Trek phaser?

I would love a working (functional) replica of a Star Trek Phaser.. Did you see the one that sold recently? $230k..

Thought this was LEDs too - am still pondering.. but lunchtime is time to install my handlebar risers that took 50 hours to get here from RI.

oldmech

230k? isnt that around the price of a house!!

Its about half of a cheapish one here, even considering the exchange rate.. Still pretty pricy for a prop from the original series.
