Took your advice on the oil leak Ken - Thanks!! It didn't leak all day. We stopped at advance for carb cleaner and RTV (black so it wouldn't be obviouls!!), and while Mike was checking us into the hotel I sprayed it all down with cleaner. Went to Outback for dinner and when we came out I sealed it up in the outback parking lot while we still had light. While we were working on that we realized the brake lever adjuster on the bandithad somehow loosened itself and fell out - between the hotel and restaurant!  Not a good thing to happen at 6:00 Sunday when you need the bike running at 7 a.m. thenext morning. By some stroke of weird luck, there was a victory mc dealer down the street and the guys just happened to be in there working on bikes. They were drag racers and got us fixed up. Didn't even charge us!! Gotta say the dudes at Rocket Rogers Motorcycles in Danville are way cool. And they had 2 of those Hyosung Comet bikes in there too - folks on the board have mentioned them before. Really nice looking bike...can't say much else though.

Definately had fun, and learned a lot. Aaron from Cornerspeed is cool and the instructors were all very helpful without making you feel like a jackass. The GS ran great and was  fast in the corners, much faster than a lot of much more powerful bikes (granted, with inexperienced riders!) By the end of the day I was using all of my tires. The Bandit did well too. I was a little bit faster than him in the corners, but with that extra 15 hp he would walk away from me in the straight.  I could outbrake him going into turn one, he'd stay fairly close to me until 4, and then pull by me coming into the straight spot out of 4. I'd ride his wheel to 17, pull up next to him because I was getting an earlier drive out of 17 to the straight, but then he'd walk away from me til I got to the end and passed him when he started braking into one again.

One OTE!! Very minor though.  I was moving pretty fast and low through  turn 1 and something hit the track and upset the bike. I thought it was the peg, but the scar is on the pipe...anyhow, it upset the bike and scared the crap out of me. I overcompensated trying to straighten the bike up and went up the concrete gator barrier on the inside and did a brief lawn job. Close call!! The instructor told me to hang my knee out more and hang off the bike more, so I worked on that the rest of the day. Got my knee down a few times. So the bike escaped unharmed until it fell while we were loading it and broke the brake handle.   :x

Cost:
$180 each to register
$28 each to safety wire
$100 gas
$200 hotel, food, etc.

Plus I had to buy gear, which got expensive...
