Give it time. Maybe the people looking at your posts cannot give advice as they are not versed in the problem involved?
I am one of them :) but thought I would reply so you know we care

Much appreciated, Sorry for impatience (to everyone) ... Just eager to get solved and need advice on best route.

Yep, most of the people here probably don't know what excessive or acceptable wear on a bearing looks like. I'd definitely say abnormal, but I'd be doing the same thing you are and asking someone else whether it's a problem or not.

Shop manual, engine 3-36+3-37

Use a plastigauge

Service limit is .080 mm.

Bring it into a local bearing shop and see if they can beat the bike shops price.

Those bearings are stuffed. The question is why. Judging by the metal colour (color) they do not appear to have been excessively hot, just worn. Perhaps the engine has been running on low oil pressure for a long time. I would be having a close look at the oil pump including the relief valve. It may be stuck partly open causing lower than normal pressure at all revs but if that was the case I would expect the oil light to flicker at idle. Perhaps there has been some contaminent in the oil that the filter did not remove. Once a bearing shell starts to go it will progress fairly quickly. Big end (con rod) bearings do not normally "squeak" though. It is usually a deep "knock" that can be brought in or out by feathering the throttle at a fast idle speed or, if it is noticeable at idle, be made to go away by removing the spark plug wire.  What I am trying to say is that I would be surprised if what you found was the cause of a squeaking noise. I hope this may give you a start.  :technical:

Sorry but you complained about lack of replies in under 5 hours.
People do not live on the board. Give it a day or so as some people (most) check once a day or even once a week.
Give people time to respond. and in this case, as was pointed out, most do not know what worn bearings look like. Not many people have taken apart the bottom end of their engine.

agreed. but after seeing those bearings, they are stuffed as was put by another user. i agree. they need to be replaced. but while in there, as he said, check the oil pump as well. so you dont have to do this again.

Engine had a leak gone unknown and yes ran without oil for a bit.... obviously enough to start excessive wear... Ordered new bearings at 11.65 for a half (pounds)  came to £46 without gaskets

Sorry for impatience again.. guess i just wanna ride :(

If the bearings look that bad how does the crank look.  I wouldnt just put new bearings in and go.  Make sure the crank isnt mard up as well.

That's exactly what i thought had a look at it and it looks and feels okay to the nail, Doesn't look warped... Will probably take to local bike garage and get an opinion or engineering firm but looks okay, and my mechanic friend said it looks fine.
