Good day folks, I just got finished giving my bike a good ole garage hose bath as @adidas guy mentioned not to power wash it previously, its all shiny now :). Anyhoo, I adjusted my chain as it was way too lose like 70mm sag, I did it as noticed a clicking found from chain while I rode more prominent in low gears. Took it out for a ride n valla its still there :dunno_white: .I noticed while turning the rear wheel that chain became slightly tight n then after a clicking sound lax. What's going on guys??? I adjusted both side screws for alignment n went by the book in my opinion  :dunno_white: :dunno_white:

"Fixed it. Found the tightest spot on the chain and adjusted the play on it, no more Sound at last!"

This is a similar problem a guy had with his gs on gtamotorcycles website. I copy/pasted it. Pardons to the copyright  ;). didn't understand his remedy cuz when my chain is tight (just before the click n laxity) its like quite tight so wouldn't I be over tightening it. Sorry for the brain drain guys but my rides joy is just killed by this nagging sound  >:(

Twisted

Sounds like you may be up for a new chain soon if it has tight spots.

I am not interested in anything you have to say
Don't bother talking to me, I will not answer you

adidasguy

When your chain gets tight and loose - you need a new one.
Look for stuff like this: zig-zags

 @adidas guy. You'r tips are always pictorial and that is just  :thumb: thanks.
Appreciate your info too @twisted @codajastal. So what exactly am I looking at dough wise?? What should I look for while getting a new used chain?? Thanks again folks.

Twisted

I would not buy a used chain. New chains can be had for cheap enough. I am not sure where you are located so it is hard to give you prices. While replacing the chain it is probably a good chance to check out you front and rear sprocket as well.

adidasguy

Replace all - chain and both sprockets. You can get good sets in the $100 range.
Chain is VERY important for riding and safety. Don't try to go cheap.
Certain things I consider important and would never go cheap on:
1. Brakes
2. Chain & Sprockets
3. Bling

Ignoring a worn out chain is highly idiotic, lots of people have been killed/hurt badly due to this. My buddy cousin is a vegetable because a chain broke and locked up rear tire, don't cheap out on this(same as tires).

Oh, yes - I forgot tires. Those are more important than bling.

There are certain areas you NEVER want to go cheap. Your life depends on it:

Tires

Chain & Sprockets

Brakes

Oh, and GEAR!
