On an unrelated note - saw this outside my work this morning - guess someone doesnt like scooters...

On to the guessing - Am sure someone will guess this pretty quickly.

oldmech

well kiwi i will have to say every time you post something i have to say, " wtf is that".
i will guess even though i do not have a clue :D
is it a reset button or circut breaker of sorts?

Kiwingenuity

Not electrical as such - is reasonably common, but not many people glimpse them.

oldmech

is it for the telephone system?

It is used for communications of all sorts - phones, ethernet, others..

oldmech

i remember the phone set up was a bit different in NZ than here in the states.
would this be a splitter. if no i will give it a rest and see who knows what it is and get an education.

Kiwingenuity

Not a splitter - will see if anyone gets it - will throw in some more clues after a few hours.

No. But I would guess one is video and the other audio?
Or could be for internet connections: one is IN and the other is OUT.

I guess you could think of it that way - it is an SC duplex multimode fibre connector - duplex being one transmit, one receive. 50 micron fibre for short haul communications circuits.

Your turn or Yamas

ahh so thats what it is..like i said i got an education! :icon_lol:

Always good to learn these new things.. I think SC stands for "simple connector" - But I always remember "square connector", but then you have ST, LC, PC, FC and a s**tload of others that never get used..

Fibre optics are also really good for substations and other facilities where large faults could cause meltdowns on comms circuits - fibre optic glass doesnt carry power and can be run with any voltage cables with no interference..

Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

yamahonkawazuki

Not really, except it is used in the industry myself and cods are part of. but not directly.
