Sometimes you just catch a lucky break.

Took the kids to the zoo today.
Had my camera with me as usual.

When I was taking pictures of some elephants all of a sudden two of them did this.
Click. Click.

I hear someone else shooting pictures too.
As I look over to my right, I see a lady with a (very expensive) camera smiling at me.
'I think we nailed it!' she said.

Big grin, nice moment.

I know  ;)

And it wasn't just the shot.  Like I said: the look on that  lady's face and the sudden realisation that this was just 'one of those moments' was pretty special.

For me, this was just a fluke.  Serendipity.
But I can imagine professional photographers getting an enormous kick out of realising that one special shot after days and days of preparation.   I saw the 'making of' of BBC's 'Planet Earth':  cameramen trailing a pack of wild dogs for weeks, just to get ONE specific scene.
Good stuff!

I was walking in the woods yesterday with a friend, she had her....EXPENSIVE camera and we found one of these... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cypripedium_acaule    she had never seen one before but knew exactly what it was.   yes, i was looking for morels..... sorry   not common in these parts.... the land owner said there can be as many as 26 of them down in that holler......    awesome pic the trunks almost make a heart.....
want Iain's money to support my butt in kens shop

Cheers, Werase ;)

Don't make fun of me mentioning the EXPENSIVE camera: pretty sure her lens alone cost more than my GS  :o

Can relate to that - my brother lashed out US11k for a Canon EOS1Dx last year, add some L series lenses at 2-4k each and you have an expensive camera.. And he also owns the 2 previous 1D models... He earns way too much..

Maybe we could start a new thread - expensive hobbies?

Be aware, this is not very wise advise!

Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

This is a common sight ... atleast among injun elephants. Of course says the man who has seen king cobra's mating in the wild before his 10th birthday. Still gives me goose bumps.

African elephants - no idea.

Cool.

Cats?
They have no income. I have to support them. Only he finest organic catnip satisfies them. Fancy Feast Elegant Entres ONLY! And Stitch loses about 14 collars a year while out hunting and at $6 a collar and $3 for a tag - only 2 have ever been returned. One from 2 blocks away.

Then the cat posts, toys, pet sitter when out of town..... it really adds up!

Maybe a better name might be Ladies Slipper-y When Wet?
It seems it has become necessary to qualify my posts:
I am/am not trying to start an argument. This post is/is not intended to be a personal attack. I am/am not merely attempting to present a different viewpoint.

Select the words that apply to you.
