Does anyone here have a head where the back is is almost completely flat, and the top is very tall? I can't wear most helmets because of my unusual skull shape. Some are alright, but if anyone else has this problem, It'd be great to hear some recommendations.

Yea I know ... the Abraham Lincoln head. may I suggest a top hat out of fiberglass.

dont ask me the particular model... its been ages since the reference.. and it was on another board.... but Shoei have one that might do?.... twas about 3 years ago.... so possibly even the newer helmets are different.. i "know" (well this guy told me once about a friend of his that had a thing... you know) ... generally the more expensive brand helmets have better options for mix and match remove/replace liners and cheek pads etc .. so i would do as his mate did and hit up a visit to "a helmet/bikegear warehouse" .. and start trying on stuff and asking lots of questions too... although the 'common shopfloor salesman' may have all the actual tech knowledge of a soggy mushroom at times.... sometimes they can know stuff too!! 

weird how that kinda info just lurks in the skull sometimes!

However, don't they make special inserts for helmets? thought i read an magazine on that back in the day. I doubt the helmets them self's will be made for this since its rare to have a "flat head"(be a funny looking helmet ).

It has historically been rare, but it's more common now than it used to be. I'm in my early 20's and there was a huge campaign called "back to sleep" in the US, to encourage parents to put their babies to sleep on their backs to prevent SIDS. It worked, but it had the effect of causing a lot of babies from the early 90's to grow up to have deformed heads.

And this is why you see infants in those goofy looking soft helmets.

We noticed that our daughter was developing a bit of a flat spot and neck misalignment, so her pediatrician told us to wait until she was asleep and adjust her head/neck to lay differently. (She always slept in the same position.) If that hadn't worked, my daughter would have needed the helmet.
