Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

Ive been using Kyoto branded pads for a while, seem to work fine for me.

piresito

Brembo, top notch!
Carbone Lorraine also has good reviews, but less expensive!

Use quality brake pads and tires.  If not, you'll wreck.  Don't be penny wise and pound foolish.

I've used OEM, EBC, EBC-HH, and Emgo brake pads on my 97 and 02 GSs over the past 14 years and 170k+ miles.  20-25  years ago I was riding Hondas and putting high mileage on them and found the front brakes developed a horrendous squeak around 30k miles, EBC advertised their Kevlar pads eliminated brake squeal, and they did and I've used them since.

Starting with the squealing rear brakes on my 97 GS years ago I found new EBC organic pads briefly helped but went back to squealing again like the OEM pads.  Still using EBC organics F&R during mountain trips  about 12-14 years ago I turned my front rotor blue twice completely fading it out on one long hard downhill run.  I don't believe the current EBC organic pads are as good as the old Kevlar ones were but the EBC-HH I used later were much better.

Back in May 07 I discovered my EBC front pads were worn out prematurely due to sticking pin sliders and bought some Emgo pads locally, was all they had, intending to use them until I ordered EBC.  To my surprise I found them to be very good, friction ie stopping power fell between the EBC and EBC-HH pads and they lasted 38k miles, cost less, and I'd say they are close to OEM pads in quality.  I've used them ever since:

407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

Ended up going with EBC HH as the local had them in stock at a fair price. Living in Canada the shipping costs on an EBay purchase makes the prices at the local shop competitive.  Plus I like being able to support a small local business.
