Hey all bit of a vlogger challenge going on here so thought all of you with a gopro or whatever give this a go and post up as a response super easy. Get on you bike and ride it without touching the throttle see how far and fast you can get just by idling (this means no choke too lol) check out my vid as well as the others that are out there and give it a go. This is outside my normal reign of vlogs so thought I'd give it, its own thread.

I really like this idea!  Such a good drill for friction zone!  I'm gonna try this, but I doubt I can do an actual video response... but we will see.

Be aware, this is not very wise advise!

Me or Buddha? I don't have my GS anymore. You search round on YouTube you find blokes on ninja 300's and cbr250r's doing it. It's pretty easy. Good road craft skill

This one made me laugh!

The 250s and even the 125 eliminators in the basic rider course could putt along decently without throttle, and I was just learning clutch control and friction zone back then.  So I'm sure the GS will do OK... prolly not as well as slips F800R, but it is interesting enough to try!  I hold the clutch in the 'friction zone' without throttle or brakes when stopped on a hill on occasion..  At a minimum, the bike doesn't move back and sometimes it actually wants to go.  :dunno_black:

Just did it a few minutes ago.  No problem.  Got to 3rd gear, slight up-hill.  Idle is at about 1200.

Yeah, I got to do it late yesterday evening.  Not as exciting as slips, but reached 20mph indicated in the only flat 1/4 - 1/2 mile around my house (Hills everywhere). Had my camera setup and recorded it, but I can't get the video off my card   ... I'm hoping its just the card reader in my computer and not the card itself...

No go pro to record me doing it, but I did it the other day no problem. Speed limit in my neighborhood is 25mph had no problem hitting it The 954RR could do it wasn't as easy though you really had to live in the friction zone especially when you consider how tall 1st gear is on a sport bike, even with a 1700 rpm idle speed the 954 was easy to stall on take off and if you gave it too much to launch it you got to see the sky really fast.
