Heated Grips? In Qld? Me thinks you just need a couple cement sachets in your coffee in the morning and you won't need no darn girlie heated grips.  :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen:

Oh yeah, welcome aboard.... you know.... once you own a GS500 it's in your blood for life - just saying.

I refrained from commenting on the heated grips...  :icon_rolleyes:

I think I counted 3 days last winter when I thought I may have needed winter gloves... the rest of the time my summer gloves are just fine  :thumb:

It helps there's no highway on the commute and I reckon the handguards cut a lot of the wind out...

On the ippy motorway dead of winter late at night or early morning I glad I have mine. And they are great for drying your gloves in the rain
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

peteGS

Hmmmm I'll give you keeping your hands warm in the rain...  :icon_razz:

Alex, let me know about Sunday? Mainly I need to know if we need to keep an eye out for you or not and if you're meeting us at Samford or Woodford.

sorry for late reply, im sure you are all well and on your way!
We had a big night at the rugby last night so there was no chance of getting up early!

As for the heated grips, Ive ridden the gs to Tassie and back last october for the semester of uni down there. I will be returning eventually and wouldn't mind the comfort they provide!
Cheers,
Alex

peteGS

No worries Alex, ride done and dusted... great ride today and great weather except Mt Mee was a bit wet on the way home.

Next two are done, more to come...

You're gonna love my "pick a gear, any gear" moment as we turn onto Ocean View Rd... and again I nearly go over the edge on one right hander... that makes 4 out of 4 times on that same corner...  :cookoo:

Hi Brisbane GS'ers.
Just saying G'day... I'm just getting into riding and have a brand spanking 2013 GS500 naked (dark grey).
I ride in to the city from Albany Creek every day so if you spot me give a nod. (that'll be me missing second across an intersection!)

cheers

Oh, if anyone's keen for a mid week ride I'll be heading out next Thursday 27th. Won't be an all day thing, probably leave the Arana Hills Caltex around the 7am mark and back home by 12 or 1 I think. At this stage I'm thinking of hitting Bellthorpe Range Rd again but not sure yet.

Nice one Spotman... which route do you take into work and what time? I'm usually crossing South Pine Rd at Pickering St Enoggera around the 7am mark...

And parts 8 and 9 from 2nd June ride, part 9 a bit after 2:30 shows you why you need a Suzuki... Honda brakes suck!

Hey peteGS,
I am usually through there about 6:15 - 6:30.  I usually run in along Old Northern/Sth Pine rd and either turn up Samford rd or continue in to Waterworks Rd (or whatever it's called there at Ashgrove).
I'm usually parked on Turbot st by 6:30 or so.
cheers

Oh no, not a Honda! Look at part 9 of the videos earlier in the thread... does the loan Honda have brakes unlike the Honda just after 2:30 in that video??  :o
