Hello guys. I start up my bike by jumping because battery is dead so i jump it by my car. It been so long it haven't been ran. Okay fuel ran up to the motor and started. Last time gas ran out while driving anyways. I check my oil before i did anything and it was on half but was not on the stand. So I started as is. Then later few min engine running i rev it and then like it didn't want to rev it at first it was reving fine when give gas. Okay then i heard a ringing sound well engine shut off i check oil on center stand or not in center stand well it needed oil i went to grab oil i came back added oil. I added a bit to much. Anyways it started up i let it run for a bit then it shut off. I tried starting it up and it would crank and crank and crank. And now it wont crank at all or make any noise when push starter button. Frustration frustration.  Okay so I'm new and stupid. Now what? Thank you for taking time to read it and willing to help. Ty

Can't i just use jumper cable for now and find the main problem? Battery charges up and such but letting it turn my engine for half min or min then it dies jumping doesn't totally charge it but battery should charge the battery when engine runs longer. It should start when jumping right?

I think that if you are using a car (while the car is not running) to jump the bike to find the problem you are alright for now. The problem, since you said it was low on oil, could be something really bad, but it could also be something simple. For starers, do you have spark in your spark plugs?

If your battery isn't holding a charge, it's toast anyway. Running a bike with a toasted battery causes all sorts of electrical / running issues.

Check your oil level properly. Bad things happen when you're low on oil, but too much oil is also very bad. What is the gas issue you are describing?

Hi I took it to autozone and they are charging it and will tell me if it holds charge. And oil I'll pull the plug and leak some.

Hello brother and sister. Autozone took the charger off the battery yesturday and checked the voltage it is on zero. So I'm needing a new
battery. Hope that solve the problem.

Interesting that Tim Berg bought a new battery at Autozone. When we hit the starter on his bike (after fixing a few things) there was one click and then nothing.
The battery read zero volts. Never have I seen a new battery fail 100%. Not even 0.1 volts!
He's getting a better battery from somewhere else then his bike will be fully running.

What battery was this? Brand model?

Tim needs to post he know the model. Also he needs to get up to 5 posts to quit getting the anti-spam questions. (I advised him of that. He got a different battery and went riding yesterday. Yea!)

Also note that it wasn't the right battery, but that is what was in there when he bought the bike. Right size but drain on the wrong side.

It is good that many gs motorcyclists are buying motobat batteries. I like the + and the - connection adaptor on motorboat. And the motobat is good strong happy yellow colour too. I always have battery tenderer on top.
