I posted my first GS500 post last week looking for a little carburetor help. From many threads I read it seemed many owners have experienced trouble with idling - too low, too high, etc.  Just bought the bike and it had poor acceleration and responded poorly to the throttle. After cleaning the carbs it ran much better but the idle started to climb to 4k. I thought I was in for a long process of trouble-shooting but I retightened the vacuum hose, played with the throttle cable and choke cable and behold its running and idling great.

Anyway took it out for a quick spin tonight and noticed the directional were blinking very slow - almost not blinking. Any thoughts??

From what I understand the relay for the blinkers could be getting corroded/old and a replacement is really cheap.

Try that?

got any LED in the blink circuit? ... though that usually stops the blink altogether ..

but yeah .. agree with solac .. try a cheap fix with a new indicator relay first .... then if it is anything else... you still have a new relay!  :thumb:
