Ok so I was doing a little bit of hunting for service manuals and I decided I was going to buy one for my '07 GS off the amazon link on this site. HOWEVER...while searching for...*ahem* more readily available *ahem* (more tech savvy than mechanically savvy) manuals I stumbled across a full PDF of the Haynes '89 - '97 manual. Just curious about if its mostly the same as the '07 (other than some electrical stuff). Afterall, the engine has not changed much over the years.

The carbs will be a bit different as well. Otherwise, the engine block itself is good to go.

Yeah, mostly the same.  Carbs as mentioned. And wiring as you noticed. Oil cooler...  Electronic tach... PAIR system....

Electrical will be different. Carbs different.
You can get the 89-2008 Haynes manual.
Best to get the one that covers your model.
I believe 1989-2008 is the newest Haynes manual.

The actual factory service manual starts at the beginning....at the back of the manual are the updates for each successive year..........for a particular bike...you reference the main part of the manual...PLUS..you have to reference the addendum for that year....to get all the changes up to that point....

Even though the factory manual is considered copywrited material, and it would not be legal to publish it on the internet for free...and this group would not condone that either... If one were to search thoroughly, (but illegally) on the Internet and were to find some illegal website, which just maybe had an illegal copy of the manual, that person might illegally download that illegal manual for their own personal but  illegal use.........

I of course am not suggesting that I or any other person should ever do that.......... :nono:
