Passing my 2002 to my son.
Has not been ridden much the last few years.
Revs were not coming down and we fixed that.
Fixed a low voltage problem by cleaning all the connections and we were on a roll.
Have a slight oil leak from one on the top bolts on the right crankcase gasket.
Figured that would be easy.
Pulled off all the bolts wacked it with a rubber mallet and the damn thing won't give.
Thank goodness for you tube.
Forgot to remove two bolts under the rotor cover.
The gasket is fried to the cover so I have to get some gasket remover.
I guess I have to be careful not to get any on the rubber rotor shaft seal or on the oil pressure switch.
In 20 20 hindsight it would have made sense to change the rotor shaft seal but I don't have on hand.
Any suggestions on gasket remove.
Impossible to get with a razor or scraper.
Should I use any type of gasket sealer as an additional precaution when I install the new gasket?

Careful with the gasket remover. It'll take paint right off. Happened to me while replacing the gasket on that same cover.

Ok gasket is in.
Locktite Chisel takes the old gasket off and a "very" light application
of Lockite 515 helps seal the gasket.  The 515 is probably not needed.
Tighten the bolts on the tighter side by hand.
My torque wrench is upstate but there is some question as to the torque settings anyway.
Great video, how can you go wrong?
Amazing that people take the time and effort to help others.

Battery was not charging took off all the connections and cleaned them.
Used Deoxit  which is the only thing works of pitted connectors that you can't get into to clean.

Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

No leaks, battery is charging.
It's running like a top.
It's a real fun bike to ride.
Have it up in the Adirondacks, there are some real nice roads up there.
